A weaver (機屋, hataya) is a being that can willingly control their hakukon to create madō. These beings are so rare, that when one appears, the nation they are born in usually snatches them up and trains them for military purposes, though there are a few that refuse such service. It is estimated that only one thousand weavers are alive today; that's one thousand out of over six billion inhabitants of Earth. They typically are categorized between the "naturally born," weavers that were born with their powers, and "artificially born," individuals that obtained their powers through experiments or other physical means.
The people of Malamig refer to Weavers by the name Satanas, a homage to the fact that the people of Malamig believe they are children of the Devil.
