Seikōzoku (神聖なレース, Sacred Race) are beings with a natural affinity for Yin and Yang Madou Manipulation and are born with large amounts of energy, even as children. This power seems to exert itself in the eyes, forming a technique known as Yóngqíyǎn; Seireitou Kawahiru is the only known user of this ocular technique. They were once known to be the natives of Korea.
Seikōzoku are typically lonely people, viewed by those around them as beings with strange and mysterious powers, leading to prejudice and being hated and feared. They also seem to be strong proponents of change, even taking it into their own hands to change the world and bring it to peace; saying it is their duty as the "sacred race." In spite of their lonely lives, they appear to be people who are quite joyful and caring to those loyal to them. A Seikōzoku's power stems mainly from their desire to change the world around them and to protect all that is right. Unagi states that a Seikōzoku's power manifests three times in one's lifespan; once the final third one is manifested, one has become a "complete" Seikōzoku. The two main manifestations include control of madou manipulation and Yóngqíyǎn. The third "other worldly" manifestation has yet to be explained or witnessed.
It appears that a Seikōzoku has a mysterious power known as "the ability to synergize with existance". This refers to a Seikōzoku's power to harmonize and communicate with the world around them; both living and nonliving. Seikōzoku can see into the hearts of living beings and see what they are truly feeling; adding on to being feared by other humans.
